Overview

PrayBeam is designed to keep personal prayer within trusted groups. The app helps people send prayer notes to loved ones through private groups and an iPhone widget.

Prayer content is not used for ads, analytics, public feeds, or automated prayer generation. PrayBeam does not store prayer text on PrayBeam servers. App data is stored locally on your device and, where sharing or sync is needed, through Apple services such as iCloud/CloudKit. PrayBeam also uses a Cloudflare Worker/D1 database for APNs device-token routing, privacy-safe notification metadata, and Apple account-deletion token revocation support.

Data We Process

Depending on how you use PrayBeam, the app may process:

  • Your Sign in with Apple identifier.
  • Your name from Sign in with Apple if you choose to provide it.
  • Optional profile details such as display name, photo, and location.
  • Prayer groups and member information.
  • Prayer text and prayer metadata.
  • Prayer responses such as Amen, prayer seen, praying for you, or thinking of you.
  • Notification permission and device notification state.
  • APNs device tokens used to route notifications.
  • Privacy-safe notification metadata needed to deliver notifications without storing prayer text.
  • Apple account-deletion token revocation support data.

Where Data Is Stored

  • Local device storage for app data on your device.
  • Apple iCloud/CloudKit for private group sharing and sync where needed.
  • Cloudflare Worker/D1 for APNs device-token routing, privacy-safe notification metadata, and Apple account-deletion token revocation support.
  • The iOS App Group container so the widget can display prayers.
  • Keychain for authentication-related values.
  • Apple App Store and StoreKit for subscription status once subscriptions are enabled.

What PrayBeam Does Not Do

  • No ads.
  • No third-party analytics by default.
  • No public prayer feed.
  • No selling personal data.
  • No AI-generated prayers.
  • No prayer text stored on PrayBeam servers.
  • No prayer text stored in Cloudflare Worker/D1.

CloudKit and iCloud

Shared groups use Apple CloudKit. Group members can see prayer content intended for that group or recipient.

Public invite metadata may be used to let people join groups, but prayer text is not stored in public invite records.

Notifications

Notification text does not include prayer text. Notifications may include a sender name and group name so you can understand where the notification came from.

iOS notification delivery is controlled by Apple and by your device settings.

PrayBeam uses a Cloudflare Worker/D1 database to route APNs device tokens and store privacy-safe notification metadata needed for delivery. Prayer text is not stored in this database.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are handled through the Apple App Store and StoreKit. Apple may provide subscription status and transaction information required to unlock paid features.

Subscriptions and refunds are handled through Apple. You may request a refund through Apple’s official refund process where eligible.

Account Deletion

You can delete your PrayBeam account in the app. Local app data is removed from your device, and shared group cleanup is handled where technically available.

Cloudflare Worker/D1 may be used to support Apple account-deletion token revocation.

Some data may remain on other members’ devices if it was already shared or synced, subject to Apple CloudKit behavior and group membership state.

Website

This website does not use tracking cookies or analytics unless explicitly added later.

Hetzner and Caddy server logs may technically process IP address, request path, and timestamp for security and operations.
